How Dorset Home Choice Works
Dorset Home Choice aims to give you more choice about where you want to live. The information on these pages will provide you with a summary of how the scheme works, how you can access information about properties and how you can express an interest in a property (which we call bidding).
The specific allocation policy that applies to your housing register assessment will depend on the local authorities you have applied to within the partnership.
The Borough of Poole, North Dorset District Council, Purbeck District Council, West Dorset District Council and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council all use the Dorset Home Choice Common Allocations Policy. Bournemouth Borough Council use their own allocations policy.
Dorset Home Choice Allocations Policy.
Bournemouth Borough Council Allocations Policy.
Joint Christchurch and East Dorset Allocation Policy.
Please note that a new scheme guide will come into force on the 17th December 2014 for all partners. This contains information on the new banding policy and bedroom eligibility criteria that will apply from that date.
Please note that local lettings plans sometimes apply to certain properties in the area. North Dorset District Council have a local lettings plan in place that covers properties in the Mampitts/ Pembroke Gate/ The Maltings developments.
